Life with Fire Podcast Update

Hey folks! Welcome to our new website, and thanks for following along for the first season of Life with Fire Podcast! Having just started this podcast in August, I’m positively delighted to share that I’ve had nearly 7000 listens in the first nine episodes, and I can’t wait to keep the momentum building as I prepare for a second season.

Episode one of season two is planned to release in mid-January, though my (this is Amanda, by the way) new job as a ski patroller at Mt. Baker may put a wrench in that plan. I like to think I’ll want to spend my days off podcasting this winter, but if the first two weeks of the season are any indication, this job is exhausting and I don’t know if I’ll have the energy for more work! We’ll see.

Anyways, looking forward to the winter, I hope to do an entire season on international firefighting, with particular interest in our Southern Hemisphere friends who are just entering their fire season. My hope is to cover ecology, management and general fire topics with folks who work in fire or have done research in South Africa, Argentina, Australia, Greece, Canada and Mexico. If you have any suggestions, comments or potential sources for the international fire season, please let me know!

Thanks again for listening, supporting, commenting, subscribing and following during my first season. I had no clue what I was doing most of the time, but all of my followers’ unending support made the learning process easy and even, dare I say, fun.
